Teri and I enjoying Jackson Bottom Wetlands in Hillsboro.
Ready to perform with Beaverton’s ISing community choir
Enjoying spectacular Washington County tulips with my beloved son, David.

Washington County has been my home for 30 years.  My wife, Teri Martin, is a native Oregonian. Our son David attended Beaverton public schools and earned his Associates Degree at the Rock Creek campus of Portland Community College.  After living for several years in Beaverton, we moved to our current home in Bethany where we have enjoyed living in one of the most diverse communities in the state.

We are active in our church. Both Teri and I served on the Board of our church and taught children in its religious education program. We all sing in choir and David rings handbells. Retreats at Camp Magruder on the Oregon coast and Menucha in the beautiful Columbia Gorge are among our favorite church activities.

We are active in our community.  I am Washington County government’s representative to the Washington County Public Affairs Forum and served on its Board. I also served on the Boards of the Arc of Washington County (now Imagine Possibilities) and PHAME Academy. Teri chaired the Washington County Commission on Children and Families and the Washington County Public Safety Coordinating Council.  We are members of the Portland City Club. Teri led the City Club investigation of the Metro area’s readiness to recover from a major earthquake and our neighborhood preparedness efforts. David and I are members of Beaverton’s ISing community choir, and David volunteers with the Cedar Mill Community Library, OHSU, and a local hospice program.

We actively enjoy Oregon’s outdoor splendors, hiking, camping and whitewater rafting with family and friends.  Raft trips on the Snake, Rogue, McKenzie and Salmon Rivers rank among our peak experiences in the Oregon wilderness, and we love tent and yurt camping throughout Oregon. We have backpacked the spectacular Kalalau Trail on Kauai and across the Haleakala crater on Maui.
